Kenyan Heart National Foundation's beginnings

Kenyan-Heart National Foundation is a Medical Charity whose Mission is Prevention, Reduction, Control, Treatment and Management of Heart Disease through Public Awareness & Education, with more emphasis on Prevention.

Kenyan-Heart National Foundation is an initiative of the World Heart Federation (WHF), the umbrella body for all National Heart Foundations Worldwide, in collaboration with the African Heart Network (AHN) which is the umbrella body for all National Heart Foundations in Africa.

"Kenyan-Heart", as we fondly call it, was introduced to the public through a Press Conference on the World Heart Day, Sunday 26th September 2004. Kenyan-Heart National Foundation has been established following prescribed World Heart Federation (WHF) guidelines, designed to ensure transparency and accountability in the running of the organization.

Kenyan-Heart is a Member of both the World Heart Federation (WHF) and the African Heart Network (AHN). It is the only recognized National Heart Foundation in Kenya and has been chosen as the Country Representative in both these Heart Bodies.

Kenyan-Heart has been chosen by the Danish Heart Foundation as its Twinning Partner under the African Twinning Project (ATP), which is another initiative of the World Heart Federation.
