Kenyan-Heart Wins Award!
The Kenyan-Heart National Foundation's (KHNF) Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Prevention Program, funded by DANIDA and in Partnership with the Danish Heart Foundation has received the 2011 Louise Lown Heart-Hero Award from ProCor and the Lown Cardiovascular Research Foundation.

Kenyan Heart National Foundation's beginnings
Kenyan-Heart National Foundation is a Medical Charity whose Mission is Prevention, Reduction, Control, Treatment and Management of Heart Disease through Public Awareness & Education, with more emphasis on Prevention.
Kenyan-Heart National Foundation is an initiative of the World Heart Federation (WHF), the umbrella body for all National Heart Foundations Worldwide, in collaboration with the African Heart Network (AHN) which is the umbrella body for all National Heart Foundations in Africa.
Kenyan-Heart National Foundation was launched on the World Heart Day, Sunday 26th September 2004. Kenyan-Heart has been established following prescribed World Heart Federation (WHF) guidelines, designed to ensure transparency and accountability in the running of the organization.
Kenyan-Heart National Foundation is:
- A member of and the Country Representative at the World Heart Federation (WHF): This is the umbrella body for all National Heart Foundations Worldwide.
- A member of and the Country Representative at the African Heart Network (AHN). The AHN is the umbrella body for all National Heart Foundations in Africa.
- The Twinning partner of the Danish Heart Foundation (DHF). This Twinning Partnership is an initiative of the World Heart Federation & the African Heart Network under the African Twinning Project (ATP).
- A member of International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE)
